I am very happy Microsoft listened on this issue. My opinion is that by making an Express version available for free, it benefits everyone, including the paying customers such as myself who were worried that a lot of open source projects would simply decide to stop supporting MSVC altogether.
Anyways, in defense of MS, they often do listen if people bitch enough, and that's exactly why it's important to bitch.
