NEW YORK — After the Tupac hologram performance at Coachella made such a huge splash, the team behind the projection system floated the possibility this week of an Elvis hologram to perform with Justin Bieber. Even '90s girl group TLC is rumored to be considering a virtual version of the late Left Eye on their upcoming tour.

With all that talk, MTV News hit Times Square to ask fans which departed artists they would most like to see perform in hologram form. While some of those interviewed wanted to see other rappers like the Notorious B.I.G. or Nate Dogg, one fan thought Whitney Houston should get the honors.

"I love her, I grew up singing her [songs], just walking around the house when I was seven or eight," Shayana of Houston said.

Brits Amy Winehouse and John Lennon of the Beatles were also popular picks, and a few rock fans mentioned Queen's flamboyant frontman. "It would have to be Freddie Mercury because Queen were one of the all-time greatest bands and he was a showman," said a fan named Rob.

Blane Mader would like to see a hologram of another great showman, Michael Jackson.

"It's a really cliché answer, but in my time I've never seen him and it would just be something awesome to watch," Mader said of the King of Pop.

Members of the Jackson Five recently announced that they would love to have a virtual Michael on their upcoming Unity Tour. "Wouldn't that be wonderful? As a matter of fact, we had that idea two years ago for Michael's Cirque du Soleil show," Michael's brother Jackie Jackson told E! News.

A Rare Sale: Despite 30 Million Activations In The Last Year, Google Sends SketchUp To Trimble

Screen shot 2012-04-26 at 12.16.00 PMGoogle is prolific when it comes to its in-house production, churning out new ideas and products all the time, and the company isn't afraid to pull the plug if the idea doesn't pan out. In fact, CEO Larry Page said in his "Update From The CEO" earlier this year that Google has shuttered or combined 30 products since April 2011. But this morning found Google making a relatively unusual move, announcing not a closure, or a purchase, but a sale(!). The product, called SketchUp has become one of the most popular 3-D modeling tools in the world, with over 30 million activations of the program in 2011. And today, Google announced that the SketchUp team and technology will be leaving the Google campus to join Trimble Navigation, for an undisclosed sum.

LG Optimus True HD LTE's European assault begins in Portugal, Germany and Sweden

Image

While the latest LTE and HD equipped addition to LG's Optimus line has already landed across Asia (Korea, Japan) and North America (US - AT&T, US - Verizon, Canada) under a few different names, the newly rebranded Optimus True HD LTE is finally prepared for a European debut. As seen by the flags flying above, this week LG will begin rolling out to Portugal, Germany and Sweden, with Britain and France on deck for the second half of the year when LTE service is available. The other flags present represent further Asian rollouts in Hong Kong and Singapore. The plan, described in the Korean press release linked below (Update: English PR after the break), is apparently to make LG synonymous with LTE, although we can't see how renaming its current dual-core standard bearer every other week is helping.

BlackBerry Curve 9320 spotted in Vietnam, leaves nothing to the imagination

BlackBerry Curve 9320 spotted in Vietnam, leaves nothing to the imagination

Indeed, the Curve 9320's been anything but shy in these past couple of months. First, it was spotted while on a purported trip to India and shortly after that posing for T-Mobile's UK site. Now, the BlackBerry handset has been pampered by a full hands-on treatment from the Vietnamese folks over at Sohoa. Unlike its other adventures, though, this one presents far less speculation. As we'd previously heard, the device is in fact running BlackBerry OS 7.1, as well as being equipped with that undisclosed single-core CPU, 512MB of RAM, 3.2-megapixel rear shooter and a 1450mAh battery. Per the translation, Sohoa also notes the Curve 9320 offers a "better keyboard" and is thinner than the rest of the Curve lineup. There's an extra photo for your viewing pleasure after the break, but for the entire rundown be sure to check out the the source link below.

[Thanks, @tranquochuyvn]

Lindsay Lohan Brushes Off Rosie O'Donnell Bashing

Lindsay Lohan is said to be in shock that Rosie O'Donnell bashed her on live TV yesterday, believing she always had a great relationship with the talk show host.

She's not exactly Donald Trump, in other words.

Sources in LiLo's camp say was never any bad blood between the two, and that Lohan and O'Donnell were always on great terms ... or so she thought anyway.

O'Donnell, RosieLindsay Lohan Listens

Lindsay always had a special fondness for Rosie, even. One of Lindsay's first ever talk show appearances, at age 12, was on Rosie's old show back in 1998.

But, though she's surprised, Lindsay isn't upset that Rosie slammed her and her upcoming Liz Taylor role ... it just adds more fuel to the comeback fire!

Why waste time worrying about the haters, right? As far as Lohan's concerned, Rosie's just another doubter she's gotta prove wrong. Her rep concurs.

Reacting to the tirade, Lohan's publicist told E! News Tuesday: "I think Rosie should focus on her own career and stop worrying about everyone else's."

Bam.
